Interests Outside of Medicine: Ultra marathons, rock climbing, snowboarding, hiking, surfing, anything outside, photography, travel, horses, making music videos, and chocolate chip cookies.

Interests in Medicine: Everything. I love wilderness medicine and rural medicine, pediatrics, OB, Emergency Medicine, and International Medicine. I also have a special interest in Palliative care.

Life before Medicine: Preschool teacher, snowboard instructor, and horseback riding tour guide. Took a year off medical school to run ultramarathons. Did my intern year in Emergency Medicine and switched to Family Medicine because I missed taking care of my patients over time.

Favorite Movie: Big Lebowski, Almost Famous, Braveheart, Last of the Mohicans

Why you chose residency in Montana: The people were genuinely happy and l felt at home when I came to visit. The program offers amazing opportunities and exposure to everything in Family Medicine, especially rural medicine/wilderness medicine exposure. And you can’t beat the running trails, big sky, sunshine, friendly people, and amazing outdoor adventures that Montana has to offer.
