Rocky Mountain College
Founded in 1878, Rocky Mountain College is Montana's oldest institution of higher learning. At Rocky, students have come from all parts of the United States and from many regions of the world. They have come to Rocky because of its reputation for offering an excellent undergraduate education, because it is a safe and enjoyable place to live, and because the faculty and staff at Rocky demonstrate every day that students come first.
Just south of Montana's largest city of Billings are some of the oldest rock formations in the world. These 3.3 billion-year-old "basement" rocks are part of the Beartooth Mountains, a spectacular, high mountain range dotted with hundreds of brilliant, crystalline lakes. This is Rocky Mountain College's back yard -- diverse, beautiful and challenging. With more than $11 million invested in the campus in recent years, Rocky Mountain College provides the comforts of home mixed with an awakening of the spirit, body, and mind.
The Rocky Mountain College Athletic Department is committed to the ideals outlined in the College mission statement: to educate ourselves and the ever-changing larger community, recognizing the importance of the liberal arts as the foundation of all learning for academic, professional, and life-long personal development. In support of those ideals, the primary objective of RMC's department of athletics is to recruit, retain and graduate student athletes of exemplary academic and athletic ability.
